Are ipods worth it, or are MP3 CD players or other MP3 players from other brands better deals? I have an iPod, and installed iPod Linux, so I could watch videos on my iPod. Now everyone wants to install iPod linux on their iPod!

Yeah remember in school like 5 people tried and failed to install Linux on their i-pod thus screwing it up until you helped fix it!

well I heard the iPod nano's screen scratches easily, I actually tried one at CompUSA and the screen scratched with my fingernail.

It's just anti-Apple propoganda. My fourth-generation iPod is scratched easily, and I have no qualms about it. But after buying the iPod, I have felt that the Sony Network Walkman is a better deal.

Well no offense or anything but I like the I pod over a walkman because you have a lot more features. Yeah they mabye stupid, but playing Tetris during Math is always fun! Well it would be if i had an I pod but who cares! Also Walkman's are a little to bulky for me...

iPods are great... except that the nano seems pointlessly small because the mini was prefect size....... No use to replace minis because all they needed was color screens.....

Yeah, they could have just added colour screens to the minis. The minis are also a better deal than the nanos. Although it was a good move for Apple. If they had just added a colour screen to the mini, it might not have boosted sales that much. And by releasing an MP3 player as slim as the nano, they were able to wow people which boosted sales a lot.

OK, now I think I have a legitimate excuse for buying an iPod if it can play videos and run Linux...
