Good

English: Primary I guess, pretty good I'd say.
Mandarin Chinese: OK, a bit crappy, accented, writing sucks, not so good at reading... yeah

----

Bad/Might learn someday

Taiwanese: I understand bits and pieces and maybe I'll learn someday... or not download_0.gif since reading and writing is identical to Mandarin though I can read and write... I guess.
Spanish: Learning in school
Japanese: I teach myself a bit but not much, I only remember a bunch of random pronouns and how to curse...
Latin: Well it just sounds cool... but declension scares me...

You know something, Vietnamese sounds pretty cool too, I just listened to a Vietnamese song... I don't think I'd want to learn though... so many languages, so little time...

Cool, I speak Taiwanese too, although not too good. I can understand most of it though.

You must quit Spanish and learn German, it's so much better. Plus, unless you're going to be in coercion with Mexican rapists, German is just so much more useful.

Cool, Japanese is a good language.

Vietnamese? Are you shitting me? If you want to learn a cool language besides Japanese and German, learn Korean, a great language for singing.

You have to learn Mandarin because now,China is raising like 24% in economic rates and by the Beijing Olympics, maybe it'll be the best in the world.

Français,French, fluently

I write:(speeking on paper not on the computer)
Ελληνικά,Greek, poorly
Греческо,Russian, poorly

... A difference of opinion then. But my school does not teach German. Only Spanish, French, and Japanese.

Why do you say German will be more useful? Spanish is #3 on the list of most spoken languages, while German is #10. I can understand it being better, because it does sound cool...

I know it.

Relax. I stated that I didn't actually want to learn it, I merely commented about it sounding interesting.

Because do you see people in high-end jobs speaking Spanish? No, the only people I see speaking Spanish in a working environment are janitors cleaning buildings. But German, it's so much more useful. A lot of good companies are German, like adidas, Allianz, BASF, Bayer, Beiersdorf, Bosch, Blaupunkt, BMW, Zeiss, DaimlerChrysler, Mercedes-Benz, Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, Heckler & Koch, Hugo Boss, Infineon, Karcher, Leica, Lufthansa, Porsche, PUMA, Sennheiser, Siemens, Staedtler, Volkswagen, Audi, blah blah blah. But what does Mexico have? Nothing.

Good, good. If you want to sing in another language, Korean is the way to go.

I understand. So one needs to look at not just how many people speak the language, but how these people are distributed. I still couldn't do that though, because as I stated earlier, my school doesn't teach German. At any rate, I probably wouldn't be speaking Spanish or German with many people anyway so one could say that neither of them are useful for me. So I guess I just learn them for the heck of it. I'll have to remember that though. Because it is true that it sounds cool, and I could always learn it on my own time. The more the merrier, I guess. What about French though? I never thought much of it because only France spoke it and again I thought it was less likely to be useful. And also, spelling tends to be a bit of a pain.

I heard some of my friends speaking Korean today and it does sound pretty cool. There are too many languages that sound cool to me though download_0.gif

Yeah, the Rush Hour movies are pretty funny. Do you know Chow Yun-Fat? He was in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but back in the 80s and 90s, he did a lot of comedy, and he's probably in the next Pirates movie. And Stephen Chow is really funny too.
