You need to play other stuff. branch out
punkrocker45
Yeah, playing all different instruments is really fun. Especially when you are the best player for both instruments in your school band. That was when I played trombone and trumpet.
Timebandit
i dont play squat. i dont want to either. i dont find it as thrilling as flying. biggrin.gif

I thought everyone got tired of me making guitar-related posts...I made like 5 of them or more.

I have an Epiphone SG, which is made by Gibson. Gibson rules. Fender just looks nice. Unless you have the tele, then you've got a pretty decent guitar....

I have the same problem....I was standing on stage at my church with some friends practicing and there was this one tiny hole, just big enough for a pick to fall into and deep enough where if a pick fell into it, it could not return. Of course, I dropped my best pick in there....there had to be a one in a trillion chance of that happening....

I like it too, I learned how to play it. I have to say one of the best by Eric Clapton & Cream is Crossroads.

Rock on, that's all the world needs. I am trying to play slide guitar, but it isn't easy...I think I am going to give up trying to learn how to play slide because it doesn't come naturally to me....guitar does though...
punkrocker45
If the world only needed guitar, then techinically if you think about it, there would be no bands. You need a rhythm section to support the lead parts. If Eric Clapton didn't have a bassist and a drummer backing him up, he would be off time sometimes and his songs wouldn't sound the same. Same thing with most rock music. If there were no bass guitars, punk wouldn't be the same, because most of the louder parts are bass parts. Don't get me wrong, guitar is awesome, but other instruments are needed too.

Well you should try something it is fun. I have never flown a lane but i have ridden in one and the only fun i have is the landing.

Violins are better than Guitars, but of course you can still make the joke "(Such and Such Instrument) doesn't have a G-String."

Guitars can be tuned to play rythm. Normal guitars can act just like a bass. And I meant the whole field of guitars, ranging from bass to 12 strings.

I have always wanted to play the violin. I do not agree with your opinion on it though, lol.

Odd, my G-String broke yesterday, really. On my acoustic. tongue.gif

Yeah, me and my freinds made the joke "The Viola doesn't have a G-String" about 50 times last year.

I know a band that has only guitar, I forget thier name at the moment...
punkrocker45
The White Stripes, but they have a drummer. It is only a two person band, but on the recordings, Jack plays guitar, bass, and piano. Meg plays drums and other percussion related instruments.

There are those one man bands on the streets and the white stripes are awsome
punkrocker45
Yeah, the white stripes are really awesome. I don't know there might be a band that has only one person, OH YEAH. Now I remember, there is a metal band called Early Man, they only have two people also, but it is still a drummer and a singer/guitarist.

You're thinking to hard there are a lot people who play violen byt hemselves but they never get popular.
punkrocker45
Yeah, I had to read an article on this supposedly really big violin player, who was 15 years old. I have never heard about her again. I hate english class when that happens.
Kawasa
See it is just a violen player that no one cares about.
punkrocker45
Yeah, our teacher told us to "keep an ear" out for her. I never did, but if she was so good, wouldn't we hear about her everyday? Most people today don't like the violin, I only listen to violin when it shows up in a song I am listening to, or like in the band Yellowcard.

HA, that is kind of cocky.
punkrocker45
I have just recorded my first riff collection, for a kid at my school, who wanted some riffs for a theme song for his comic, Sombrero Man. I couldn't find my freaking pick either, that made me really mad! I thought I lost my favorite pick!!

Hmm, I am also constantly losing my picks. I finally got this thing that will stick to the back of your guitar holder and holds about 12+ picks in it. It is extremely handy.
serebii
Cool. I need one of those.
punkrocker45
I've seen in a magazine, picks that stick to your guitar and don't leave a sticky residue. I need to get that though, or clean my room.

Ive got one of those. Got it on the top of the body of my Ibanez. Too bad I never think to put picks back in there, so they all end up buried on my desk.

Lol, I have mine behind the head. Between the low E and the high e tuning pegs. Very convenient when playing on stage and you hapen to drop a pick while playing.

The problem I had with that is that I would only bring one pick, and when I set it down, I would lose it, or if it fell into impossible-to-fall-into-holes I would not be able to get it back out. So I bought a pack of twelve .60 Dunlops and put them in there. I have to say my best pick, and most worn, is my Dunlop .88. I love that pick, and it is my favorite color. It is the perfect thickness for me. I do not know what I would do if I lost it, lol. I need to buy some more of them, I have had it for a while and it is so worn down, it's not even funny. I still have grinded-pick-dust on my guitar from playing so much....
Herloss
I hold my picks sideways, with one of the top corners striking the strings. It's easier to pull the pick accross the strings that way, as it doesnt go as deep past the strings.
