Well, apparently Wikipedia calls Sum 41 "punk." But they sound more like punk-like pop or emo to me.

What now? They can be both poppish or punkish? That's like a contradiction!
Anti-pop is like part of the definition of "punk."

Hey Mynck did you know that AFI came from the SAME area as green day making Harder, faster, and better punk rock! Its the truth look at the albums "anwser that and stay fasionable" "Very Proud of Ya" and "All Hallows EP" AFI is the greatest and has a great guitarist! They may not have gotten as much press coverage for their music as green day but they still are great. And Nick 13 is the lead singer of the punk band Tiger army, yet again a great band that is VERY obscure. Same thing with Rancid Great band NOT ENOUGH PRESS COVERAGE! I mean i respect Green Day i really do they are great I just like AFI and Avenged Sevenfold better. And avenged sevenfold is considered HARDCORE PUNK!!!!! or METALCORE. ANd if you don't know what metalcore is its metal infused with PUNK!

Well I'd never heard of Tiger Army or Avenged Sevenfold. I'm not sure that I'd like metalcore though. I'll look into it though. Obscure bands are the coolest.

Avenged Sevenfold is an awesome band you should check them out at www.avengedsevenfold.com and link to their myspace. and ur right obscure bands are awesome thats why I prefer bands like Redemption 87, Propaghandi, Walls of Jericho, and Tiger Army. When obscure bands write a song, they don't try to make it "radio-friendly" they try and get their message out. Some bands that get radio play like AFI don't make radio friendly songs.

Ok, like I said before, punk is dead man. What you need is a little time with some classic rock. The Eagles rule!

Hey guitar freak technically if u think about the eagles are dead in a way the only albums they come out with are greatest hits and this poll is for PUNK if you don't want to talk about PUNK then you shouldn't be here. Then Another thing this is one of the greatest PUNK revivals that has happened
