yeah, i saw this show on NGC and a 777 over the pacific was 7/8ths over the ocean and one of the engines was leaking fuel. the pilots didnt know and did an X-feed. thus wasting more fuel. then they ran out of fuel and glided back to land.ill try and find out more info on that.

Don't waste your time, I've seen it too. smile.gif
Timebandit
well, another fear isnt accidents, read the front page of todays news paper.
serebii
Flying isn't the most feared thing in the world, is it?
Timebandit

lol, good thing the british are competent when it comes to these things. In these times, I'd rather be boarding a plane in britain than in the US.
Timebandit
pilots should carry low calaber pistols. imaging a woman flight attendent pulling out 2 9mil subs and ripping the terrorists up. mellow.gif
Mario
i'm just wondering,How do the pilots stay up all night?Even if they change shifts won't they still be tired?
Timebandit
some sleep during the day.
serebii
Or get sleep before a big flight.

Timebandit

Two words: ceramic bullets wink.gif.

I believe the FAA has authorized pilots to carry a gun in the cockpit now, not sure though.
Timebandit
yeah, at least a 22. cal would be safe.

.22's make for good head-shot's. Peirces the skull and then loses enough momentum so it cant make it out the other side, so it just ricochet's around in there.
Timebandit
any of these would be a fine selection, for passangers sake?

Wouldn't work well in a confined space, because then you have pepper flying around in the cockpit. Same thing with Tazers, the person firing and the person receiving are too close, and have the chance of making contact, thereby shocking the pilot as well. The exact same gun the Air Marshalls use would be great, because ceramic bullets won't pierce the side of the aircraft, but will pierce a human.
Timebandit
yeah my first choice was better tongue.gif would even a 38. be enogh to peirce?
S.W.A.T
Maybe a tranquilizer,a BB gun or a Semi-Automatic Desert Eagle.
Timebandit
no, but if there druged? well, even if they can get on a plane with drugs. i think the 22. would be the best. but a test would be good. to make sure the pilot always makes a clear shot.

Maybe an Under-cover bodyguard pretending to be a flight attendant.

Or maybe an air marshall? Oh, wait, we already have those on airplanes! Sure, having a pilot carry a gun in the cockpit sounds good on paper, but when we already have air marshalls on every flight...

And, for those of you arguing, the only safe gun on an aircraft is one with a ceramic bullet. Period.
Timebandit
yeah, ceramic 22.

A non-lethal GBS tranquilizer.Drugs for Knock-out and making him suffer.
Timebandit
a BB gun would be do big to fit and point in the cabin or cockpit. the 22. has a realy small barrel.

9mm with a ceramic bullet (and a silencer)?
Timebandit
yeah, that would be good. reduce the power, and more accuracy.
