I had just heard that the PS3 had a patend chip in order to stop from it playing used,rented,or borrowed games. I don't now what to think but this could the PS3's downfall.

I've heard about that too. Given that I rent alot of the games I play, I don't like it. Hopefully that feature won't be implimented.

Lies? They DID patent technology which would cause a disk, once played, to be unplayable in any machine other than the one it was originally played in. That's not a lie, that's a fact.

I remember this. It was supposedly to keep their profits up due to the income loss due to underpriced PS3s, since they're relying on software sales to support them.

Nintendo was the only one of the three that made a profit on console sales last generation. Probobly will be the same way this gen as well. So who has the better buisness model now? Lol, the fact that Sony even looked into this technology in the first place shows that they know just how far in the hole they're going to be this time around.

[bleeped!] you. The "high" price is nothing when you compare it to what you're getting with the PlayStation 3. Sucky games? The PlayStation 3 has more first-party support than any other seventh-generation console out there. Plus, it's got all the good multi-platform games, so it pretty much makes getting a Wii useless.

I wouldn't be suprised if it reached 100USD. They are losing a 150USD per unit sold (says analysts).

They assume that they'll sell several games for every system they sell, and by jacking the price of games they can almost guarentee profit. That is, assuming that they sell anything at all.
