QUOTE
Although the Milky Way is but one of billions of galaxies in the universe, the Galaxy has special significance to humanity as it is the home of the solar system. Democritus (450 BC - 370 BC) was the first known person to claim that the Milky Way consists of distant stars.

So.. It sounds like the writers aren't human, its the article on the Milky Way
serebii
Maybe the writers are taking over Wikipedia.
Mynck
No, it's NPOV! We must not have a point of view biased towards humanity, after all. happy.gif
serebii
Why not?

Humanity is the only intelligent species in the universe. There is no other life out there. They would have found us or we would have found them by now.
Mynck
No way, the universe is at least billions of lightyears across. It'd take possibly billions of years for any of our communications to reach another civilization.

That still doesn't mean there is another intelligent civilization out there.
Mynck
No, but it defeats your argument for there not being any.
Anyways, the theory of evolution and other studies biology lends itself to there being life on other planets. The same process that happened on Earth could be repeated on any of the other kajillions of planets.

THE UNIVERSE IS AN INFINATE SPACE. THERE COULD BE LIFE LIKE US THINKING THE SAME EXACT THING ABOUT NOT HAVEING OTHER LIFE. THE UNIVERESE IS SO VAST ITS STILL BLOWING UP. THHINK OF IT. WERE IN A SOLOR SYSTEM, WHICH IS IN A GALAXY, AND GALAXYS HAVE MILLIONS OF SOLOR SYSTEMS,AND IN THAT WERE IN A UNIVERSE AND THAT HAS BILLIONS OF GALAXYS AND TRILLIONS OF SOLOR SYSTEMS. AND IN SPACE, THERES A GOOGLEPLEX OF UNIVERSES.

SO THE CHANCES OF LIFE, PRETTY HIGH

That is only if the theory of evolution is true.
