SYRACUSE, N.Y., May 26 (UPI) -- Syracuse, N.Y., police tracked discarded coffee
cake wrappers to nab three people who allegedly broke into a convenience store
and stole the snacks.
A 20-year-old and two teenagers were caught after what police termed a mix of
good investigation and dumb criminals.
News 10 in Syracuse, N.Y., reports the suspects allegedly shattered the
convenience store window and took lottery tickets and Little Debbie cakes.
Instead of waiting to eat their booty when they got home, the thieves began
eating the cakes and tossing their wrappers on the ground as they fled, leaving
police a clear trail.
