I need a drawing of a prism of translucent aquamarine-like thing with shiny parts and foggy parts where it's not as transparent. Also, a slab of quartz, with swirly black spots, some of which make a dragon-ish shape. Concept attached.

-----Edit-----

I've decided that it's too early at this point to ask for this. I will bump this topic later when I feel ready for it. Which might be in a year or two.
But hey, this makes a good example of what to use KP for.

-----Edit-----

Please don't bump this

Do you understand what "Please don't bump this" means?

2D or 3D?
I am skilled 2D but not in 3D
however, I CAN do 3D
for 2D i am best at editing. Not that good at creating something new.

This thing's supposed to be the GUI, and it'll be 3D, but first, I need some 2D terrain graphics. But I can't figure it out. I've already written some code to handle the land, but I've realized that it won't work quite as I'd like...
Alecto
Please elaborate. Do you mean a texture or 2d texture-map or what?
Mynck
Like, just a little square of grass, a little square of forest, a little square of sand, etc. I've got this mostly figured out now. For now, it'll just be a sprite-based 2D overhead thing. Maybe in a later release, though I doubt it, I'll add 3D stuff.

In the attached image, the red is the main terrain thing, and the green is the edge, where it fades into some type of generic pattern. Instead of having one image for each, having just the main image and four images of each of the edges should work. Use PNG alpha transparency. Where it doesn't have an edge, it should blend in with the tile next to it.

Setting: Feudal Chinese type place

List of types of terrain I'll be needing:

Generic (dirt background)
Dirt
Grass
Forest
Dirt path (grass background)*
Dirt path (forest background)*
Hills
Mountains
Chasm
Crater*
Lake
River
Bridge*
City*
House*

More to come

* = doesn't fit above description; y'know, with all the edges and such.
Alecto
Oh, I see. There are alot of places on the web that give textures for free, and you could just do alittle bit of editing to make it suit your needs.

Look, google has found some stuff you might need! (hint)

Edit: Maybe not; hmm. Only appeared once.
Mynck
Oy, but then it'd look like so many others... no actually I can't think of any others... meaning that probably nobody would have it for free download.
Alecto
I've found quite a few. You wouldn't look like many others, because it's all dust in the wind.

Do you need it from the computer or from the internet? I could make one...
Mynck
Well I'd like new, original art, because this is a big, ambitious plan I have here. Man I'm gonna need some help.
LeTuro
Okay. I will try on the computer. Do you mind the size?
Mynck
No, but it doesn't need to be too big. I mean like graphic you might see on an old Final Fantasy, bird's eye view.
LeTuro
I have almost no idea what you have in mind. I read your description, but I don't get it too much. But I'll try, so if it doesn't turn out well, I'll try again.

I hadn't noticed the link until now.
That should work for stuff like grass and water. Thanks smile.gif
Not so sure about mountains though.
