I recall there has been some controversy about the Japanese. Well, now I have more evidence to back up my claims. According to IQ tests, the most universal test of human cognitive abilities, the Japanese rank very highly. Here are the listings:

1. Hong Kong - 107
2. South Korea - 106
3. Japan - 105
4. Taiwan - 104
6. Austria - 102
7. Germany - 102
8. Italy - 102
9. Netherlands - 102
10. Sweden - 101
11. Switzerland - 101
13. People's Republic of China - 100
15. United Kingdom - 100
22. United States of America - 98
48. Mexico - 87

I have selected the countries that are more open for discussion. And I think it is worth noting that Japan ranks as the third smartest* nation in the world. And I think that the validity of my findings should not be questioned as my native nation ranks number four as one of the smartest* nations in the world. (And all the ones at more than 100 are also above average.)

*these are used for the sole reason that the definition of intelligence has often been debated.

I wonder why India isn't on there, when so many Indian people have IQs that are greater than alot of other races...
Mynck
What kind of test was this? A test of ability or knowledge?

I see the U.S. is below average. Big surprise.

Which one of those intelligences are you using?

I'm not surprised the US scored so low. My mom was reading an article (which I would like to read) about how the US is producing fewer and fewer scientists and will very soon no longer be the leading world power. When that happens, maybe we can get group rates to Japan, myscrnnm laugh.gif.

Sorry. I forgot about India. Apparently, it is:

60. India - 81

A bit odd.

Or India. Nobody can deny that we have, what, the 3rd largest proportional number of scientists in the world?

@ myscrnnm : India, number 60? Lower than MExico? I find it hard to believe that your source is credible...

Well, it's from the International Monetary Fund.

@the gameclaw, you say I use other information that agrees with me? The Korps Commander is doing the same thing. Another example of you being biased against me.

India also has more than 1 billion people, most of whom are poverty stricken and can't afford an education. The only tests we have to measure "intelligence" measure more what you know than what you are actually capable of. Otherwise, the tests would be about equal percentages everywhere.

I didn't expect china to do quite so well, considering their high population and sweat-shops, but then I remebered the government funds pretty good education, as do most of the higher-ranking contries.

It was given the US would score low, Not only do we have immigrants that can't afford higher education, but we give people so much freedom of what to do with their education that alot of people get lazy and simply drop out. The highest-scoring countries have the best educations.

@myscrnnm: I wasnt' saying it wasn't common practice. I was more saying: You've got a brain, USE IT!

I see you've posted this just to raise your value of Japan even more. Though I dislike these things, it also makes me laugh.

I like Japan too, anyways. Their intellegence should be good, and those are the countries that I do expect to be on there. But yes, I find it hard to believe India is number 60. Though poverty is definitely a reason for that...
Herloss
People with high IQ's can still be total morons. Take myscrnnm for example. Absolutly no common sense whatsoever, although I'm sure he would do just fine on an IQ test. It doesnt take common sense to pass a test.

My youth pastor's sister graduated with a 4.0 average and she is a complete neanderthal. And blonde (I think) tongue.gif laugh.gif.

+ I want to see your source for this info, this sounds tainted to me...

But if you're going to blame anyone, blame Mynck, cuz he is the impetus for my support of the Japanese.

Also, the most practical explanation for India's low average is due to the fact that the country has lots of people, so it will vary a lot.
Mynck
I was never your impetus for "supporting" the Japanese.

You'd always "supported" the Japanese.

You'd believed that they were "superior" from the very beginning.
Korps Commander
Which is why Mynck and I always agrue with you about it, at school and here. Myscrnnm, I don't see why you think that the Japanese are superior. Sure, they're smart and innovative. But they've made their mistakes, and aren't superior to others.

Let me rephrase it, "You are the impetus for my continuing battle to support the Japanese.".

No. Even superior people can make mistakes. Superiority is relative. So the Japanese are relatively superior to other races.

Stop dehumanizing people. Gosh. To even suggest that people have value, and that one person can be worth more than another...

It's possible. I have based superiority and inferiority based on areas such as cognitive abilities, visual appeal, physical fitness, creativity, intelligence, et cetera. And it just so happens that the Japanese and Germans excel in more of those areas than any other race I have encountered.

Although we really don't like to talk about it, it's not far from the truth. However, if you try and push that on people who are insulted by it, prepare to be shown just how little you are really worth...

For instance, if myscrnnm goes up to a Mexican and says "Mexicans suck and the Japanesse Rule," He's probably gonna get the crap beat out of him, AK-47-ed ( tongue.gif ), or run over by him or one of his friends. Believe me, racism is on both sides, and the government only protects the minorities. Mess with them, and their layers screw you, after they do.

If they retaliate, then they would be irrational to do so. Because if they listen to waht I have to say, I could convince them with this vast knowledge of both cultures.

You're saying that if someone came up to you and said, "All Asians suck, and here's why..." you would stand there and listen to him/her? And not feel insulted?
EclipsedSun
ooo first post for a while.
anyways
notice how russia isn't in the top few and it's population isn't stupid
anyways, its hard to have a successful IQ average with a huge population.
so im not surprised india isn't up there.

its comforting to see the gap between my IQ and the number 1 country. haha.

No, because in this case, I would already know that he/she is wrong, as I ahve counterexamples to combat such a situation. It is indeed true that quite a few Asians suck. But I can use the counterexample of the Japanese, South Koreans, and Taiwanese to disprove him/her. Now, if it was something that I myself was not clear on, or if I new little of, I would listen, and then do research, and at least come to a conclusion.
